It’s been exciting to see the response from businesses in the area to join the Save out Planet – Plant a Tree project! Currently over 40 companies have joined us to make a difference.
One such company is ICTGlobe who sponsored 50 trees this month. The trees they donated were planted at the new Maubane Community Centre grounds on 13 October 2013 and will provide much needed shade.
The Maubane Community is a very impoverished area of about 400 disadvantaged people (±250 children and 150 adults), 40km north of Pretoria. A 2ha piece of land has been allocated to them to establish a Community Centre. This Centre is planned to have a communal water point with wash troughs and faucets, a community food garden, community hall, classrooms for young adult training and Early Childhood Development and later on, a clinic.
